Fil Gosling

Owner and Pilates Instructor

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW)

Member of Pilates Alliance Australasia - Level 2

Licensed Buff Bones ® Instructor

Authorised Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner

Fil has always had a love of movement and sport, but her Pilates journey began almost by default some 20 years ago.  Her usual gym class had been cancelled and, on the spur of the moment, she took the only other class available at the time - a Pilates mat class. The rest, as they say, is history.

Throughout her Pilates teaching career, Fil has been privileged to work alongside and be mentored by some of the very best in the field.  She has completed further studies in pre- and post-natal Pilates, Pilates for bone health and Pilates for various pathologies including hip, shoulder, knee and spinal issues.  Most recently, Fil has been blessed to work with Helen New, Master Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner and the Australian representative of Scolio-Pilates® who first introduced Fil to the Scolio-Pilates method.  In 2022 and 2023, Fil undertook the extensive Scolio-Pilates training both with Helen and Karena Thek, the founder of Scolio-Pilates, and is now an Authorised Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner.

Fil believes strongly in inclusivity and loves working with people of all ages and abilities. She particularly enjoys seeing clients move past their perceived thresholds and embrace new found strength, flexibility and coordination.

When she's not counting "The Hundred", Fil can be found up to her armpits in flour cooking up a storm in the kitchen, spending time with her family, running along the Bayside beach track and competing in crazy physical challenges like Tough Mudder, Spartan and Coastrek with her equally mad friends.

FAQs

I am new to Pilates and Pilates Connect. Can I sign up for a class?

We ask that all new clients complete an Initial Consultation and a follow up private lesson before hopping into a class.  During the Initial Consultation, your instructor will take you through a movement and postural assessment from which she will write a personalised program.  Your instructor will take you through this program in the second private session.  Beyond that, you are welcome to join a group class or continue with private sessions.

Still not sure? Do not hesitate to contact us to talk you through this process and help you select the class type that best fits your needs!

What should I wear and bring to class?
  • Wear close-fitting clothes that allow you to check your form and not snag on the equipment.

  • Socks – grippy socks are recommended but not mandatory.  Socks must be worn throughout your session.

  • Water bottle

  • Towel

What is your cancellation policy?

All classes have a 24 hour cancellation policy. This allows other clients ample time to sign-up for a class that may have previously been full.

What should I do if the class I want to take is full?

Hop on the waitlist! Life happens and people change their plans. Get on our waitlist early - there’s a good chance you’ll get in!
